Project case study
Young people’s health and care services in Gloucestershire
Healthwatch Gloucestershire gave young people the opportunity to speak up about their health and care experiences and the improvements they want to see in the services they use.
Healthwatch Gloucestershire recruited and trained a group of volunteer ‘Young Listeners’ aged 16-24, to design and deliver this project. Between July 2021 and February 2022, they talked to young people and recorded their views and feedback. They focused on topics which they believe young people need better support with – mental health, relationships, GP attitudes, and COVID-19 anxiety.
The team published the Young Listeners report in March 2022 and shared findings and recommendations for change with those responsible for health and social care in Gloucestershire.
