Dorset Maternity & Neonatal Voices Partnership
Project case study
Finding out what matters most to you
In 2022, we asked those who use and deliver maternity and neonatal care in Dorset, to share their views about local services; over 270 people completed our survey.
We analysed and reviewed the responses to inform our work plan and priorities, and we discussed the findings with senior staff at Dorset’s NHS Trusts to highlight areas and issues that need to be addressed.
Our work plan 2023-24
We are seeking to connect and engage with more people from across Dorset, including harder to reach communities. And we are building relationships and collaboration between service users, commissioners, clinicians, charities and voluntary groups, through our involvement in many ongoing projects, working groups, and meetings, including around strategy, governance, safety, and equality.

Equality and Equity Plan
In 2022, we worked with NHS Dorset maternity team to develop a five-year Equality and Equity Plan. We are working together to reduce inequalities and ensure that all service users can access a high standard of maternity care.
“Our vision is a maternity care service that is truly accessible to everyone in Dorset. From planning to have a baby, throughout your pregnancy, and after your baby arrives, we want to make sure you get care that is safe, fare and personalised to you.”
